Tasmanian Archives Online

Tasmanian Archives Online is the Archives Office of Tasmania’s on-line link to information on its publicly available holdings. Searching the database provides descriptive and contextual information about Tasmanian state and local government records and private records from individuals and organisations held by this Office.

The database is structured in a hierarchical manner, providing links between different levels of information – Function (activities of record creators which give rise to the records), Agency (the creators of the records), Series (grouped sequences of records) and Item (single records such as files, volumes, photos, plans etc). There are separate search modules for each of these elements and the 'Basic search' is a facility to search across them all. 
It is added to, and modified, on a continuing basis.
